The largest yearly confab of Mensans anywhere, the American Mensa Annual Gathering started as a small, two-day meet-and-greet at the New York Belmont in 1963. The event now spans five days and features a sprawl of talks, games, and entertainment unlike any other.
An AG isn’t a spectator sport — it’s an opportunity to learn, to grow, to play, to socialize. Sparks of Genius will feature presentations, including interactive ones; the Spark! program for kids; tours for families and for adults, some active and some less so; games; tournaments; and more. Join us at the Nugget Casino Resort — a short drive from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport — and enjoy a Mensa experience you won’t want to miss!

Sponsored by the Mensa Foundation, Spark! programming offers our youngest attendees the chance to have fun, build new friendships, and make lasting memories of their own time at the AG.
We bring in professional educators from various fields to present fun, interactive programs where kids ages 4-12 have the chance to learn through new experiences, explore a variety of topics and events, and have their own AG experience.
Presented by the Mensa Education and Research Foundation, this one-day educational symposium provides a forum for Mensans and the general public to explore, debate, and evaluate a major issue of long-range importance to society.
Efforts in the U.S. and globally to understand and support giftedness tend to focus on gifted education. Going beyond that, Colloquium 2022 will explore and follow giftedness across the lifespan for a more complete picture. Speakers will break down those stages, from youth and adolescence to adult to older adult, to investigate the impact and evolving nature of giftedness over time.
The impact of COVID-19 and attendee safety are important factors as we plan our event. Contact us if you’d like to learn more about the precautions we’re taking to keep attendees safe, or if you’d like to learn more about the 2022 Annual Gathering.
