Updated March 24, 2022
The health and safety of all attendees, volunteers, staff, and venue employees at our events is our top priority. All decisions regarding the necessary protocols and policies for the health and safety of our events will be guided by medical and public health advice. We are implementing changes to meet the rapidly changing conditions, guidance, and recommended best practices. As conditions change, so may protocols and guidelines.
All national events of American Mensa, Ltd., are required to follow all CDC, federal, state, local, and venue requirements in hosting an event. In addition to these requirements, the Annual Gathering will have the additional requirements in place:
Attendees who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least 14 days after the final dose of Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson) must bring proof of vaccination to registration in order to pick up their name badge. Our definition of fully vaccinated follows that of the CDC; as of Jan. 31, 2022, a booster is not required to be fully vaccinated, but this is subject to change.
If proof of vaccination cannot be provided, attendees must bring a printed copy of the negative COVID-19 test results which matches the patron’s photo I.D. Test results must meet the following criteria:
As of March 24, 2022, the Nugget Casino Resort and the state of Nevada do not have an indoor mask requirement. A mask is recommended but not required for the Annual Gathering. We strongly encourage attendees to wear a mask when in close proximity to other attendees, such as at presentations where social distancing may be challenging to observe. American Mensa reserves the right to establish a mask requirement for the Annual Gathering for the safety of all attendees. We will continue to monitor the Covid situation and make necessary adjustments to this policy in the best interest of all attendees. All registered attendees will be notified of any mask requirement/Covid policy changes.
